What Will We Practice?

Practice everyday Japanese conversation with Japanese speakers on Zoom.

The Japanese participants may be experienced teachers or people who are currently learning how to teach Japanese.

⏱ Two 25-Minute Sessions

We will have two conversation sessions, each lasting about 25 minutes.

1️⃣ Session 1:
Practice Japanese conversation with your first partner or group.
2️⃣ Session 2:
We will change members so you can practice with a different Japanese participant.

Most sessions will be one Japanese participant × one Japanese learner in a Zoom breakout room.

👥 If There Are More Japanese Learners

If there are more Japanese learners than Japanese participants, some learners will join a small-group conversation room hosted by Masa, the event organizer.

This is another type of Japanese conversation practice where you can learn how to communicate naturally in a group.

  • 🌱 Learn how to keep and expand a conversation
  • ✏️ Get feedback and useful expressions from Masa at the end of the session
If you join Masa's group room during the first session, we will try to place you in a one-on-one room during the second session.

🌸 Don't Be Afraid of Making Mistakes

When you talk with Japanese friends, they may not always correct your Japanese. The main purpose is usually just to enjoy the conversation.

In this event, we also want to help you improve your Japanese. Japanese participants may correct some mistakes or show you a more natural way to say something.

You do not need to speak perfect Japanese. Making mistakes is part of learning, so please relax and enjoy speaking.

¥500 Attendance Deposit

Participation is free, but a ¥500 attendance deposit is required.

We carefully match Japanese learners and Japanese participants so that as many people as possible can practice one-on-one.

The deposit helps prevent no-shows and makes it easier for us to prepare the correct number of Japanese participants.

🆕 If this is your first event:
Please pay the ¥500 attendance deposit when you make your reservation.
🔁 If you continue joining future events:
We can keep your current ¥500 deposit and carry it over to your next event.
💳 If we are already holding your deposit:
Use the ¥500 discount coupon we sent you. This makes your new reservation ¥0.
✅ If you decide to stop participating:
Please let us know and we will refund your ¥500 deposit.
🎟 Returning Participants

If your ¥500 deposit is already being held, please enter your returning-participant coupon when you make your reservation.

The coupon gives you ¥500 off, so you do not need to pay another deposit.
🕒 Cancellation Rule

Please cancel at least 3 hours before the event starts.

If you cancel less than 3 hours before the event or do not attend without canceling, your ¥500 deposit will be forfeited.

Your returning-participant coupon will then no longer be valid for your next reservation.

If you would like to participate again, please make a new reservation without the coupon and pay a new ¥500 attendance deposit.

If your plans change, that's okay! Please cancel your reservation as early as possible so another learner can take your place.
